RSPB big bird watch!
This weekend is the RSPB annual ‘big garden bird watch’. As part of the eco-schools committee, the school is encouraging anybody interested in taking part. All it involves is counting the number and type of bird which you see in your garden or a green space (e.g. park) for one hour over the weekend. It can therefore be done at any time in the day (so long as you record when) and on either Saturday or Sunday with who ever you want for company – this may be yourself. It can even be done from the warmth of your own home through a window! More details can be found at www.rspb.org.uk, including instructions, identification lists etc.

Commemorating
The Head and three staff of Derby School in Germany, now closed, visited QVS on 20th June to hand over a plaque that the children there made as a gesture of support and solidarity at the time of the Dunblane shootings. They also made a plaque to explain why they are giving the original one to us for the Cunningham Centenary Garden.
Mrs Bellars, Mr Eastham and his family, Mrs Sheerin and some of the QVS Eco committee were invited to meet the Derby School contingent for a short ceremony handing over the plaques in the Centenary Garden.
