Welcome to the Queen Victoria School website. I hope that you find what you are looking for here, and that the site will give you a taste of what the school stands for and offers. Of necessity what we show here can be only a hint of what you will find in reality if you are able to visit us; please do take the opportunity to visit if you would like to do so, either during an Open Day or by making an individual appointment through the Admissions Secretary.
Queen Victoria School (QVS) is a unique organisation. Offering education under the Scottish system, with its main intake at Primary 7 level, the school is a Ministry of Defence establishment which exists to support members of the Armed Services who either are Scots or have served in Scotland. At the heart of what we do is providing continuity of education for children whose families have to move frequently, often from one education system to another, as part of their Service commitment.
I know that many of you will be visiting this site for information other than that relating specifically to Admissions. I hope that as we build the site there will be increasing amounts of information available for all those with an interest in the School, of whatever sort. Old Victorians might like also to visit the Old Victorians Association website.
The most important part of a school is the people in it, and you will only get to know them properly through meeting face to face. I look forward to welcoming you to the School should you be able to visit, and I believe that you will enjoy meeting our pupils and staff, seeing the grounds and the Houses and – I hope – witnessing some of the many activities that go on here and which together make up the very busy and very rewarding life of Queen Victoria School.

Mrs Wendy Bellars
The Head, Queen Victoria School
